Dear GEP-ED colleagues, A friend of mine has received the following question about rainforest preservation initiatives and I thought some of you might have some feedback about it.
If you do, please respond DIRECTLY to Ivo, via the email address below. --Stacy Dear... I have a question you may be able to help me with. I am a member of the Board of a charitable foundation. The foundation is considering the donation of a sizeable amount of money to an institution that works on preservation of the Amazone rain forest in Brazil. They do this through a variety of sustainability instruments. In order to verify whether we are doing the right things with our money, we are looking for some studies that give more insight in the possible preservation instruments that can be used and their impact vis-a-vis their costs. Is one of the Trust fellows knowledgeable in this area or do you have another lead that can help us? We are looking for some objective benchmarks. Many thanks, best regards, - Ivo ________________________________________________ Ivo P.J. Verheijden Corp.
