Before when we discovered a mystery spot it faded over time and it does
not appear to have been passed on to decedents.
Of course this could be different.
I have seen spots that were so small they would be missed at first sight
on a black. On a gerbil with a much lighter coat, a SN, then they may
not be apparent at all.

I have seen much smaller spots than this.
BTW, I am pretty sure such small spots are inherited due to a lack of
modifying genes that would normally extend it. Such small spots only
appeared in the UK after pieds were introduced.
