I'd like to nominate Bill Cole as moderator of this list, and also move
that the list be moved to onelist or some other place where it can be
administered by someone active on the list.
The reason I am nominating Bill is that he has experience leading small
groups, and in the short time I have been on the list, he has poured oil on
troubled waters and gently led the list back on track when things were
veering off, and I believe he is universally very well liked and respected
as a gentleman.
I don't think anyone on the list could compare to Julian as far as depth of
knowledge of gerbils, even the Europeans in the group, ;), but Bill is very
skilled at gently guiding, and reinforcing good behavior while standing
firm against what he perceives to be bad.
I haven't asked him if he would accept the nomination, or even if he's got
the free time that this responsibility might require, but if he has any
qualms about accepting, maybe other people could add their voices to mine
and encourage him to set up another listserv for us? =)
Would anyone care to second the nomination and/or the motion to move the
list to a new server? Any other nominations? (I know we're not supposed to
do both of these at the same time, but hey, this is the internet: we make
our own rules;).)
