Hi Michelle:

Several months ago, while conducting research for an
alternative server for ChinMail, I discovered that, in
addition to ONEList <http://www.onelist.com>, the
other major free mailing list servers are:
     Topica <http://www.topica.com>
     Listbot <http://www.listbot.com>
     CoolList <http://www.coollist.com>
     eGroups <http://www.egroups.com>

I was not impressed by either CoolList or ListBot as
they seemed to be rather rudimentary services [at that
time].

Topica had, until its interface was drastically
revamped a couple weeks ago, major problems navigating
about its web site in order to set/change list
controls.

eGroups also seems to have some techincal difficulties
as I have been receiving the same message daily for
the past several weeks.

Overall, I found ONEList to be the most reliable,
although for a FREE service, it is perhaps too much to
expect it to be perfect.

Ironically, eGroups and ONEList are merging. I can
only hope that eGroups adopts ONEList's mail server
technology and not vice versa.

However, the nice thing about most of these services
is the ability of the list owner(s) to have several
moderators and to change them on short notice.
