To all US folks:
I have been conversing with a young lady who acquired
a pair of gerbils about two weeks ago. She got two
females, but one has produced four pups. She emailed
me about what to do, and, after several
communications, she has separated mom and babies from
the other female.
She initially purchased her gerbs as a school project,
though she intended to keep them. However, she was
going to send the pupless female back to the pet
store. Her own conscience and my suggestions led her
to decide not to do this, however she does not wish to
keep this gerbil. She has requested that I contact
the gerbil community and attempt to place the animal.
Is there anyone who would be interested in providing a
home for this animal? She is a special case, and from
the young lady's description, was likely an abused
animal. I will be getting further details on this
gerbil soon. It is possible that the current owner
can subsidize the shipping costs if necessary.
Please contact me privately if you think you might be
able to help.
Thank you,
