I hope none will think us stupid but...
We have two grey females that we first thought were doves. Then, after
reading and writing to this list, decided were lilacs. Recently one of them
had a litter in witch one of the little ones is slightly, but distinctly
darker than her mother. This pup is not dark enough to be a slate. Her eyes
are opening so she does have at least her first baby fur.
By the way - ignore the genetics question in a previous post until we all
decide what color the mother really is. She [and our other grey female] are
both from pet stores and were just refered to as 'grey female gerbil' by the
attendants at both stores <sigh>.
