I have two cats (well, my family does..only one is
actually mine), but I have never had any problems with
either one of them. One doesn't spend too much time in my
room (w/ the gerbils), but the other one spends most of
her time there, and much of that time perched on top of
the cage. As both of the kitties are clawed, should any
gerbil ever escape and find itself near the cats, I fear
that I wold have one less gerbil before very long. As
this has not happened yet (or at least a time where I did
not know where the gerbil was) I think having cats and
gerbils can work out. I am even hoping, although this is
probably not true, that my cat has seen me the gerbils so
often and realized that she is not supposed to touch them
that possibly she, given the opportunity, would not
attack them. Of course, I am not trusting this theory
since she prides herself on bringing home a great
assortment of other fine wildlife hors d'oeuvres. =p
