Gerbils drink very little. Make sure they can reach the bottle easily, make
sure it isn't stuck.
If you are still worried, give them some carrot or apple, if they are
thirsty, they will eat from it. If they attack the greens, you know they
have trouble in getting water.
Another trick is to sprinkle a wall of the tank with water, if they are
thirsty, they will lick that off.
How old are they, btw?
