talking gerbils

when I watch my gerbils...two females I notice that even though they are not hurting each other and seem to be doing nothing particullaly unusual they squeek at each other. Is this a gerbil form of communication or is it because thir in pain for some reason...........I really dont think they are thanks Jess......Ori and the squeeaky noko
