In December, I lost a mother and one of her babies to
a mysterious ailment. The vet stated that the mother
had died of a uterus infection and there was no really
definite way to explain the baby's death. The baby
died suddenly, her belly was swollen and she refused
to eat when I had fed her, though she had been doing
good with hand feeding for the first two weeks of the
ordiel. I was cleaning the cage of the remaining
baby, and noticed what looked like diarea coming out
of his...well. I checked it and it was a ball of
worms. In all of my six years I have never had to
deal with worms in my gerbils. I called the vet and
he refused to give me information over the phone
though he has before. Looking for more of my money I
can bet. Something is tickling my memory though and I
was wondering if there is something on the open market
(over the counter) that I can get to rid him of these
nasty pests. Makes me wonder if the mother had had
the worms all along and had passed it on to her
children and would explain the deaths. Does any one
know if there is something I can just buy and not have
to put myself and the baby through the experience of a
trip to the vet??

Help!!
