Well I'm not a newbie..but I'll post one of my mistakes :)

I used to have gerbils as a little kid (5 yrs old). They were brothers and
loved them to death..cried when they died too :( Well a couple years ago I
got another pair from a pet store..two sisters. Well when I got them
home..one had a lame leg..so I took it back the next day and got another
sister. Then put them in the tank together and noticed they didn't get along
so well. So I figured I'd leave them alone and maybe they'd be ok...BIG
mistake..the new sister wasn't alive in the morning (never heard of a split
tank before). So she ended up living out her life alone at my mom's house
because she was so grouchy. One of her dogs loved to watch her for hours on
end, so I left her there. (He's the same dog on my web site watching the
gerbils I got from Evon)

So anyway I got a pair later that was supposed to be a 2 males..and they
weren't and ended up reading a lot of books and web pages to learn how to
take care of babies and learned a lot with that pair. Then started college
and sold them all after I ended up with 20 babies.

Then a while ago I signed up to the list and added to my knowledge and
realized I missed the little babies and decided to start breeding again and
got 3 males and 2 females from Evon (1 female from a pet store) and now have
14 pups :)

So anyway..sorry if I bored anyone..that's my little gerbil history story.
