HI All, I've got kind of a cute story, but I'm puzzled about it too. I have a male and female gerbil (Pierre & Emma), and they're pretty good friends, but in the morning when I feed them the Emma puts down her food, and then she goes, takes Pierre's food away from him, and sets it down with the her's. It's very funny to watch, but I find it strange that she doesn't want his to eat, she just has this thing about him eating his own food. Of course, later (an hour or two usually) they both eat their food with no problem. But, left on his own, Pierre would eat his food much sooner. Could it be that she wants him to dig/play with her before he eats his food? That's usually what they do after she confiscates (sp?) his food. I'd appreciate any help you can give me.
