In particular, two nematode and two cestode species
have been reported:

Dentostomella translucida, a nematode that infects the
small intestine, has been reported found in Missouri
lab gerbils. I do not have much data on this species.

Hymenolepis nana and H. diminuta, cestodes, also
infect the small intestine.

Syphacia obvelata, or mouse pinworm, a nematode, is
known to infect the cecum and colon. I have found
Syphacia to be particularly widespread, and have yet
to find a pet store population source uninfected.

I would be happy to offer further information if
anyone is interested.
