Hello List,

I need some advice. I have three male Gerbils living together in a tank.

A father with two of his sons. As the sons are 6 months old now fighting
starts to occur. The father got bitten by one of the youngers (I don't
know by whom). He has a bleeding wound directly under his ear. He seems
to scratch it open from time to time.
All three are lying together now and don't look as if they are still
fighting. One is grooming the others. There is no chasing or squeaking.
So I don't know if it's from a bite or another accident. There is
nothing sharp in the tank.

Should I separate the father from the two others or better not?

What can I do to stop the bleeding and to keep him away from the wound?

I'd appreciate any kind of help!
Thanks,
Jutta
