Hi!

My gerbils are males. I have not placed any new gerbils with them, they have
lived togheter for about 1 year. The third gerbil who was with the males who
were fighting, has been with them for about half a year, and there has never
been a problem before. The males who fought has slept most of the days after
the fight, and they drink a lot. One of them is a bit more injured than the
other (the oldest) and I worry about him, but I think he is going to be fine
(he has to, he is my baby!!!).
And yes I think it was a fight over dominance. The younger male is larger
than the older one, so he probably wanted to be "the boss"!!! He would
probably have killed my older gerbil if I had not disturbed them. Anyone
have any suggestions for what I should do with the wounds?? I haven't done
so much with them yet, just cleaned them. Both the fighting gerbils are
eating and drinking.
