Hi Folks, Here's an update from T&T Gerbils. All four February litters are doing fine. The first two litters born on 2-3-00 are nearing weaning age. >From Simba (spotted Dove? female) and Cecil's (red fox male) litter, there are a total of 6 pups consisting of, 2 red fox males, a female sp. red fox, a female lilac, a female sp. lilac, and a male sp. lilac. I already have 4 of them reserved. One lady wants the female sp. red fox and the female sp. lilac. Another lady wants the male sp. lilac and the male red fox. It is exciting having those four reserved. The next litter born on 2-3-00 were born to Giggle's (female lilac) and Johnny (male pied DEH). They had 5 pups consisting of 2 male nutmegs, one male golden agouti, one female black, and one female pied DEH. The litter born on 2-11-00 to Powder (pied golden agouti female) and Salty (pied black male) turned out to be a spotted golden agouti male and a pied golden agouti male. There's not much difference between these two pups. The pied one is border line between spotted and pied. My last litter born was to Erebus (sp. ivory cream female) and Method (sp. slate male). They had two pups on 2-28-00. Both pups are male, and one is a sp. slate and the other is a slate! That is strange for this breeding pair. They have never had any solid colored slates before. I'm planning on getting a breeding pair from Meg Hurley in a few weeks. I may keep the slate pup mentioned above and pair him with one of the pups from the pair I'm getting from Meg. It's just a thought right now. ****New Critters! I would also like to tell everyone that about one and a half weeks ago I bought a Degu and two Spiny mice. They are all so cute! In a few days, I will be getting the Degu a cagemate. I'm considering a breeding pair. I think the spiny mice are male and female. It's hard to tell. One is bigger than the other. The big one I call "Pudge" and the little one I call "Slim". Pudge is more outgoing and curious than Slim is. One of them found a tasty treat in their dish and they started fighting over it. It was so cute, they were engaged in a serious tug-of-war battle. They each had their mouths on the treat and were pulling as hard as they can. I think the treat eventually broke in two cause they both took off and found a hiding place to eat their piece of the treat. My Degu is still not named. I believe it is a male. I think he is lonely. I'll sure will feel relieved when I'm able to get him a cagemate. My total critter population is: 31 gerbils, 2 Syrian hamsters 1 Degu 2 spiny mice. I currently have a total of 14 cages all in one room with my desk and computer. I like to sit on my desk chair and roll from cage to cage to visit with everyone. Call me lazy, but I find it very relaxing. :o) I almost never watch TV anymore. oh! I'm planning on getting some dwarf hamsters in about a week. :o) Ann-Marie L.
