It depends what you mean by "Wet Tail". Do you mean the symptom commonly
called wet tail (ie diarrhoea) which can have many causes from poor
diet, through parasites to mild or serious illness? Or do you mean the
Hamster disease called Wet Tail (properly called proliferative ileitis)
which is caused by an organism called Lawsonia intracellularis? I am not
aware of L intracellularis being implicated in any gerbil illness
although I would not be surprised if it also caused serious diarrhoea.
