Rats - unless they have carried the plague like long times ago in the
medieval times - are lovely, social and intelligent animals too! They
are established pets too! Some people love them even more than gerbils
;-))
BTW: It is believed, that each big town has more rats (some
people estimate them at approx. one and a half the number of human
inhabitants), which mainly clean up the sewage system...
The size of gerbils is between mice and rats (more near to rats), so it
isn't so much wrong, to speak from them as some sort of a rat-like
animal. So to call gerbils as rats actually mustn't be discriminating
but may be ignorant, and yes, of course I know, rats are often reviled
because of a lot of prejudices - and timidy - too...
I don't hope, you revile them too??
