Eye Question about Gerbil!

My 2 year old gerbil Eva (Ay-Vah) was resting last night and i looked in her
cage. She had her eyes squinted and the one eye was harder to open when she
woke up until she scatched it so it opened. It had "sandman Dust" on it and a
thin string that held the eyelids together. Is she going to be okay? She is
fine today. Very active. Please respond if you want to say anything! Thanks!
