hi everyone. i've had my two gerbils, darwin and galileo (both males.. and
brothers), in a split cage for about 4 weeks now. i've kept them in so
long because after having them in it for the first 5 days, i tried to
introduce them.. but darwin, my first gerbil, attacked galileo when he
tried to sniff at him.. he didn't draw blood. i thought that if i kept
them in for an extended period, their chances of re-introduction would be
better. i'm worried though because presently, they sleep on opposite sides
of the cage, sniff at eachother only once in a while through the barrier,
and darwin still seems somewhat aggressive. he's also quite larger than
galileo. i'm nervous about trying to introduce them again. should i try to
do it now? how should i go about doing it? i've heard from some people
that the best way to do it is to introduce them on the litter they've both
been switched around in, from others i've heard it's better with new
litter, and then i've also heard that it should be done in someplace
totally unfamiliar to the both of them... like in the bath tub. i've had
the same litter in the tank for about a week and a half. which method has
worked best for those of you who have been successful? any advice is
appreciated.. thank you so much..

p.s. - and congratulations, Lanie, on your successful introduction.. : )
