Proper gerbil bedding?

Hi! I am getting a new breeding pair and I wanted to know if it is ok to use
pine or do I have to use aspen. The reason I asked this is because I have
heard that pine gives off improper oil's that can irritate a pup's skin. If
you have any idea of what I should use please e-mail me.
