However, gerbils have very short attention spans. My tamest gerbils willingly stand (Cindy lays across my hand) on my hand for maybe 5-10 sec. Then, they want to go somewhere! The tamest of my gerbils are pretty happy running from shoulder to shoulder, arm to arm, hand to hand for maybe 5 minutes. These gerbils are easy to catch because they don't run from me. But, hold them tight around the middle and CHOMP! Okay, I exaggerate a little. Once I held Norm just a bit too tight and he gave my finger a hard nip (not a bite). I doubt that helps. I just can't seem to get my thoughts together.
