Hello everyone I have a question about diseases. For about 6 months ago one of my gerbils started bleeding from her genitals so I went to the vet, she thought it could be a inflammation of the urinary tract so she gave her (the gerbil) antibiotics. It cleared up. Then for about 3 months ago the gerbils genitals started to get swollen at first I thought that I was wrong about the sex because it looked like she had a scrotum. But she continued to swell and I contacted the vet again. The vet said the same thing as last time that she probably had a inflammation of the urinary tract and I gave her antibiotics again. I vent to the vet on a thursday, on friday she started to have contractions (as the females have when giving birth) but she didn�t�t seem to be in any pain and she drank and ate, the vet said to wait. On saturday she was even wors of she had contractions for about five minutes every 20minutes - 1h but she ate and drank so the vet said to wait. On that evening she was just sitting still in her cage so I gave her water but she didn�t drink at all. On sunday when I woke up she was all cold she didn�t move but she was breathing she died in my hands while I was calling the vet. Is there anyone how has an idea about what happen?
