Hello, I am new to the list (and gerbils!) so I have a little question about coloring. Is it possible for Argentes to have dark eyes? One of my male gerbils, Tigger, maybe be an Argente Cream, but he has black eyes. Actually, I have no idea what color he is (but perhaps it is just because I am not familiar with gerbil colors). I looked on the Color Palette and he could be a schimmel, champagne, DEH, Argente Golden or Argente Cream. He has a white belly, dark eyes (as I have said) and an overall creamy colored coat. When I first purchased him he was very light, but now, two weeks later, he is beginning to get darker. Any ideas on his coloring? Rachael, and Toby and Tigger :)
