There is no-one here who can help you as the list is maintained remotely
by Rice University, Texas.
In the five years this list has been going I have not heard of any case
where someone really could not leave the list by using the appropriate
command. We have also had a lot of Hotmail users over the years.
I think it is likely that you are making some mistake regarding the
signoff command.
