We took Pookie to the vet this morning and had his cancerous
leg amputated. The vet suspects the cancer has spread, but
there's no way to be sure without a biopsy or whatever he
called it. I didn't see the point as we wouldn't learn
anything that would help him. If it has spread we will
undoubtedly have to put him to sleep sooner or later, but at
least he is free of that troublesome foot. Hopefully it has
not spread and we'll have him with us another year or two.
He is adapting well, was moving around the tank and eating
minutes after the surgery! The vet was quite impressed. He
climbed up my arm this evening too, the little trooper. :)
He seems tired but I'd expect that! Thanks so much to all
of you who offered advice and support, and condolences on
losing Lily.
