Hello Everyone,

We received the following information from our online form today and this is
typical of the situation that many people find themselves in:

"I have a problem and i would like to know what to do. I bought 2 gerbils
for christmas. The lady said that they were boys. Well, they're not. one
happened to be a girl. they started to breed and now it is like out of
control. I now have 15 gerbils in one 10 gallon cage.and now she is pregnate
again!! they can't live in there forever! I have a nother 10 gallon
aquarium. I'm thinking about putting the guys in there but, i don't know if
that is the right thing to do. Please help. thanx"

We recently took some young Gerbils to our local store and we had separated
them up into male and female groups. The pet store staff proceeded to
change this into two new groups. Elizabeth, who took them to the store,
said that she could not believe the way that the store staff were missing
the clear identifications of male and female.

The moral of the story is clear - learn how to determine the gender of your
Gerbils yourselves and never trust pet store identifications of male and
female Gerbils.

All the very best....
