Hello again all,
I just took a REAL close look at Daphne under three different types of
light, incandescent, halogen, and fluorescent; here are the results:
Under the incandescent light which I have over her cage, just looking at
her, she seems to match the color of the aspen I have her on, with dark
ticking, but she looks more tan than anything, which is why I originally
thought she was a CP Nutmeg.
Under the halogen light, she still looks rather tan, but her ticking looks
more like a black than a brown, but it's still a very close call.
Under the fluorescent light, I think I got the best view. It appears that
her coat is white at the base, with a thin strip of a very pale yellowish in
the middle of the hair, with apparently black ticking at the ends, though
it's not a very thick band of ticking.
Originally, it was this tan tint that made me believe that she was a CP
Nutmeg, but now I may have to agree with Linda (whom I got her from) in
thinking she's a Silver Nutmeg, but are SN's known to have a bit of
yellowish in their hairs? I'd really like to get this figured out, because
I'm going to breed her in the next couple weeks. Also, according to the
Color Palette, SN's carry C-, but another source I recall seeing says that
SN's carry CC, so is it possible for a SN to carry Cc(b), since her father
is a Burmese?
