By popular request, I took a few pics of my striped gerbils and put them on
a web page. The pattern seems to be a dark stripe of the dominant color
down the spine, which fans out a bit on the rear end, with the side fur
being very, very light colored down to where the white starts. The fur on
the top of the head is dark also. The stripe is kind of hard to see on the
pups. Stripe's stripe became much more prominent after she moulted for the
first time.

The first 3 pics are of Stripe and include a side view. She is about 4-5
months old (can't remember her birthdate off the top of my head). The next
2 are of a 15 day-old pup (Stripe's son). The last one is a pup that is
about 3 weeks old (Arrow's and Slategirl's son). These are all Gus Gerbils.
