What happens is you log onto a site; enter a lot of personal info, then go off and click links as required. It routes traffic through sites; so that the company doing the routing can show hard numbers about 'increasing your website traffic' and charge retailers to sign up for their services. What this does for 'you' is cause you to go a lot of places, show your 'cookies' to a lot of places, and get you onto even MORE email mailing lists. There are hidden hoops to jump to get paid; and oftentimes the pay is discounts at other places...that take a credit card and a purchase to redeem. If they do offer to send you cash; there are still more regs to getting it sent; and when you do, be aware that that is reported to the IRS and they won't do witholdings and YOU'RE going to have to take care of doing that. It gets complicated fast, and expect to pay half to two thirds of what you get back out in taxes. I spent a lot of time here not long ago very ill and had time to waste trying this. It does sound good. However, 'there ain't no such thing as a free lunch' [TANSTAAFL]. ***Being a teen once, I remember how hard it was to make $.... so I do sympathize. However, this isn't something that should be run across the gerbil forum; we're here to discuss gerbils. Deb R. ******************** >Making money by reading mail? How much do you have to read? And how would >you get the money? > >~~~( 3:> Mary <:3 )~~~ ********************* I know this has nothing to do with gerbils but I just thought I would send it out. Someone last commented that most of the people on this list were teenagers & these days there are little ways to make money. There is a site, www.moneyformail.com that pays you to read emails. Well everyone who has the internet does this everyday. If you do sign up for this site please enter "Coolchick5" exactly as it is here for your refferal code. Thanks for reading. Allecia Mayo
