Hi Everyone, as I mentioned earlier I am going into a temporary
off-the-list mode given my busy summer schedule away from my computer.
"E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the
message:

                         SET GERBILS NOMAIL

when you return, mail to the same address with:

                         SET GERBILS MAIL

The advantage of doing this is that the list
retains your personal options."

If anyone needs to reach me -- please email me directly. I will be
keeping tabs on GML activity through the archive.

One final question though...
How many of your gerbils scramble onto you and out of the cage on their
own versus your having to scoop them out?

Cara is my most people friendly gerbil, if you leave your hands too
still, too long when you're doing anything in the cage she'll jump on to
you an scramble out. I got Cara at 8 weeks from a pet store that lets
customers handle small pets and she was friendly then. Alan is at the
other end of the scale -- he'll take a sunflower seed from you, but when
you put your hands into scooping position, he's outta there; I got him
at 4 months from a pet store where he'd not been handled. And pups that
I've handled quite a bit from an early age will crawl onto my palm if I
leave it still long enough
