You have several issues to look at her. 1) If the male doesn't accept the
pups right away with you leaving on Monday you either will have a split cage
or another cage. 2) If he does accept them you will have insufficient time to
observe them to make sure everything is working out, and would the person
watching your gerbils know what to do if it wasn't. 3) If you leave the 5
babies with the mom while you are gone with the new litter (a 35 gallon is
large enough) it should be fine if you know she won't drive off the older
litter. 4) You could take all the babies out and put them in a 3rd cage if
you don't know if she will drive them off. If she is an experienced female
that doesn't drive off the babies I would go with option #3 I have done this
and in a much smaller cage.
