Thanks to everyone for the welcome and the support. I've read several
places that gerbils from a breeder are generally friendlier than the pet
store variety, which makes sense. I found a listing of one in my area,
but the adoption section of her website was updated about a year ago, so
I don't know if she's even still breeding gerbils or if she has any
available. I could get them shipped from someone, but then I can't see
them or hold them before I buy them, and it's awfully hot to be shipped
around. Has anyone ever had gerbils shipped to them before? What were
your experiences with it like? OK, now here's one of my probably many
novice questions: if I were to build something for the little ones to
play with out of cardboard, could I use tape to hold different pieces
together or is glue better? It might sound like a dumb question, but I
don't want to put anything in there that could be harmful to them. I can
just imagine them eating tape and ending up with some weird intestinal
blockage. Am I being overly cautious?
