Hi Gary --
As a matter of fact I bought that very wheel a month ago. I thought the
feet-run counter was a silly gimmick at the time, but it was the only
wheel I found with not-open-slats* and I had a great coupon (thanks
Rick!).
But I have found it fascinating to see just how far they run. Since the
wheel is pretty loud and it is plastic (Alan is a big gnawer); they only
get it for a few hour stretches at a time (it belongs to the boy tank).
At first only Alan used it and would run 3000-4000 ft a day (1 mile
=5280 feet: 1 km = ??); two days ago though I notice a lot of activity
on it; Alec whose shown recent interest might have been on it as well.
When I took out the wheel the one afternoon count was 11281 feet! so
over 2 miles.
It has really made me realize how much exercise these guys need.
If anyone else has the wheel and wants me to record the day averages,
send the numbers to me.
