>Hi everyone,
>I was wondering, how do you get mites? Is it because the cage is dirty, do

>THANKS all!

They come in on other animals, and can spread without being
detected by the petstore employees. You usually bring them
home from a petshop with the animal.

Bird mites can also live on hamsters and gerbils. And rats.
And mice. And they can survive for a time on a human. If
you come in contact with an infestation, a few may take a ride
on you....

I've never seen them in feed that I brought in, but I do check
it anyway. I have had them infest feed after I brought it home.
