help !!
I don't know what to do , my gerbil bamba is constantly plucking hair
from its tail , a part of it has become an ugly bone .

Bone showing? Or just bare?

If there is bone showing, it needs treatment to prevent infection.
Best would be take it to a veternarian.

I read on the FAQ's that it might be bored , but I don't understand why
... should I give them some more stuff to chew ? but what kind of stuff ?

The cardboard tube from a roll of toilet tissue is always popular.
Bamba will probably chew that up in minutes, but.

and there was a part there on the FAQ'S about dipping its tail in apple
bitter , well I don't know what it is but are there any other suggestions
for things to dip its tail in , so it wont touch it

Bitter Apple. It is 'Bitter Apple' and it is a non-toxic bitter, foul,
tasting
stuff you can get in petstores. It's sold to prevent animals from chewing
stuff up. [i.e., for training puppies and the like] It won't hurt the
animal,
but it sure won't want to taste the stuff.

Almost anything else, might harm the animal as well.

Other things for entertainment, is give it a few sheets of unscented
undyed toilet tissue, ripped into a few shreds.

For chewing to trim teeth, a length of apple branch about the thickness
of your thumb (after peeling the bark) and about as long as your palm
is wide is good.

A small cardboard box (not plastic coated) put in the cage also
gives them something to do....I usually put a toilet tissue roll in
at the same time...mine destroy the tube first, and the box will
then last a few days....
