If you think you have a disease in your animals you *must* not disperse
them.

If, for example, some of your gerbils are infected with something like
E.coli, Listeria or Tyzzer's, you could  endanger other people's
animals. In the case of the first two diseases you could also endanger
their children.

If you operate proper precautions when cleaning and feeding your animals
so that ones in different tanks never get into contact with one another,
and you make sure you wash between tanks, then your gerbils should be
safe.
