I purchased what i thought was a dark eyed honey from a local pet
store. He looked just like the one on the color palette - I just
though he was pretty. Now he has lost most of his black "ticking"
except for his points and this1/2 inch band around his middle. He is
still gorgeous, but this band confuses me. I know they "molt" or can
change colors around 12 weeks, but he has been stuck in this pattern
for about 2 weeks. Any thoughts? Is he still considered a Dark Eyed
Honey? Basically he looks like a olden argente with dark eyes, nail,
tail, etc. Thanks,
