Hi Jocelyn,
Try hanging the wheel a little higher, so it won't get covered up so
quickly (if its the type that stands on legs, put it on something high).
My gerbs have plenty of room, toys and activity, and still they love
their wheel. So it's worth a try. Maybe the wheel gets covered
accidentally, and then they can't use it because it's stuck.
