hibernation

Hi everyone!

As the cold winter weather is just around the corner I was wondering if
gerbils go into semi hibernation?

I have noticed a change of activity in my two gerbils. I wondered if this is
due to the change of season?

Has any one else noticed this? One of my friends said that her rats are less
active too.
