>The Animal Planet show, "Emergency Vets" is

>hour from where I live. One episode that aired a year plus ago >and is being aired again tonight...they identify an albino female >dwarf campbell hamster as a 'dwarf syrian'. There is no such >thing, unless you end up with a stunted syrian hamster. And the >animal is obviously a dwarf campbell (to those of us that breed >them). Sigh. I did go online and lodge protest about the inaccuracy >they aired.... *gasp* Certainly the almighty Animal Planet made no
error! It's a rather common thing, sadly enough. You should take a
look at their site. I recall reading a transcript of a chat session with a
veterinarian that claimed to specialize in exotic animals...yet she said gerbils
should be kept alone. Hrm...some expert. I complained. No one
cared. Figures. Grr. You'd think a channel dedicated to
animals would try a little harder to be more accurate. At least they can
tell dog breeds apart...!
As a side note...and more on-topic... I think I might end up
with my first OOPS litter! I coulda swore Smudge was a girl...I'm still
hoping my eyes played a trick on me and Smudge *IS* a girl after
all.
