No questions from me tonight...surprise, surprise!  Instead, I just felt like
sharing my 'gerbil adventures' for the evening (since no one I know is really
interested in hearing about gerbils)!

I convinced my friend to go with me to find a petshop, and we ended up at a
place called 'SuperPet' (I'm making a VERY long story short by saying we
'ended up', hehe).  Anyway, before that she'd asked me how hard it was to
take care of gerbils, and I was telling her just about everything I knew...I
felt almost like a gerbil expert, LoL!  She was wondering because her cat had
died a month or so ago, and she wanted another pet but she knew she wasn't
ready for another cat, and she had seen my gerbils and thought they were so
sweet...at ANY rate, we went in the petstore and walked straight to the back,
where they keep the birds and other animals.  There was a 10-gallon tank of
gerbils there, and for some silly reason I got all excited when I could tell
that most were pink-eyed whites, and some were slates!  ;)  Unfortunately, I
think the whole tank (there were probably close to ten gerbils in it) were
! si! ck..I don't know about ALL of them, but I saw a couple of the white gerbs
that had very little hair on their tails, and their eyes were just..well, I
don't know quite how to explain them, they just didn't look good!  "You don't
want any of these," I told my friend, "they're not in good shape at all!" So
she asked me how I could tell, and I felt smart all over again.  ;)

Then when I got home, I saw that my stuff from PetSmart.com had come in,
which was exciting for me (I know, I'm pathetic)....so I cleaned all my
gerbils' cages tonight.  ;)  Whenever I take them out to clean their tanks, I
put them in those run-about balls...one of the lids has this habit of popping
off unexpectedly, and tonight when I walked out of the room to wash some of
their cage accessories, the lid popped off and my DEH, Chloe, escaped!  I
walked back into the garage and saw the lid lying on the floor, and the ball
lying a foot or two away...and I was like, "Oh my god..." I was afraid I'd
never find her again, with all the stuff against the walls!  But I finally
trapped her behind these two big plastic storage tubs, and after several
minutes of waiting for her to come out, I caught her.  I'm sure she had quite
a story to tell Cecilia when they got back in their tank!  From now on, I'm
pu! tt! ing scotch tape on that lid!  Should have done that from the beginning,
but what can I say?  I'm silly.  ;)

Hehe...well, you're probably all asleep at your keyboards now, but I had to
share my night with you!  ;)  Have a great day/afternoon/night (whenever you
read this), everyone!!!!
