Hi all, A while ago my gerbs were acting a bit wierd and squabbling and stuff. People on the list thought they might be pregnant or there might be a change in dominance which could result in big fights. Well, a few weeks down the line now, there are no patterings of little feet, which is a relief and they still seem to be getting on fine. So, it seems I was just being overly worried. Some things I did notice though, a few days ago they started acting strange in exactly the same way. It was just coming up to tank cleaning time, exactly like it was last time. Could a dirty cage cause gerbils to be a bit over tense? Perhaps I should clean more often. There were also very few play things in the tank at the time cos they'd chewed them all. Put a bit of cardboard in the tank and they quickly returned to normal. So perhaps they didn't have anything else to do other than play with eachother, which I took to be squabbling.... My christmas present this year was boxes full of toilet rolls, which should keep them entertained for at least some time to come. So anyway, thanks to everyone for their help, Stephen
