I found out that it doesn't matter whether you handle pups recently when I split up the colony. The 5 week old ones had 2 calm ones and one jumper, they hadn't been handled before. In previous litters that I did handle a few times I only had jumpers so I think it depends on the animal to start with. I have read something about people handling them very soon but I did that with my 1st litter and mom didn't agree and immidiately moved the nest. > >How early can you handle pups and not have them try their >best to spring off your hand at 2-3 weeks old?
