Hi all,
Just thought I'd put my two cents in here.  I had a pair of gerbils when I
was in college, Rosencrantz and Isolde (they used to be part of two separate
pairs, but their partners died) who had one healthy litter that made it to
adulthood.  I gave away the pups and all was quite well.  They then had a
second litter.  This group made it to about 3-4 weeks and Rosie went nuts.
He ate the whole litter and killed Isolde.  I don't know if there were
extenuating circumstances, I was away for the summer and my mom was looking
after them, but she got pretty freaked out and asked if she could get rid of
Rosencrantz.  I said sure and she sold him to a pet store.  I thought it was
pretty weird myself, but she swears she had been taking good care of them.
Anyhow, thought I oughtta add that
