Cheyenne is doing a realtively nice job with
the pups. She is feeding and caring for 6 of them, and I've stepped in with the
other 3. 2 of them are doing rather well, while the 3rd isn't doing well at
all. I doubt she will make it through the night. One of the 2 is missing part of
her back leg, looks to be inflicted by one of the parents, but is taking
KMR. The other is responding somewhat, but not as well as the
other.
What I'm doing is putting the KMR on the pups
mouth, and letting them pretty much do the rest. I've read its every 2 hours?
I'm basically just going on to see that their bellies are full. And allowing
them to take what they will. Is there a set amount that they should be taking? A
lot of it drips on to my hand, so I'm not sure what they are taking in.
Any advice on doing this? I know there are my
chances that they will not make it, but right now I'm trying with them, and
don't plan on giving up. I was also wondering if a little sugar water might be
helpful for them?
Cheyenne was burrying these 3 under litter, is it
best to put them back in the cage with her, or leave them in a separate area
with heat?
And by a far off chance is there anyone in my area
who might have a female who is nursing with young pups, who might allow a chance
to foster these little ones? I'm calling pet shops in my area right now, as
well.
I could use any advice or suggestions at this
time.
Thanks
Sarah
