I have noticed that older gerbils do seem to "spread". Sometimes extra out-of-cage
run time seems to help a little. I DO mix my own food and have noticed a drop in
weight in ONE of my older tubby boys. I think this is mainly due to the fact, though,
that he is stubborn about eating his bulgur wheat and refuses to eat it until he is
REALLY hungry (I don't refill his dish until it's empty).
