My friend at college ran in to the lounge to get me last night (4am,
midterms week). She was upset because she had been playing with my five week
old female gerbil and the gerbil decided she wanted to jump, but my friend
held on. The end result was two loud "pops" and now the gerbil walks with
her tail down and is favoring a leg. Is it a break? Should I take her to the
vet (can the vet do anything)? Or was it her tail popping? I picked her up
to look at her and her tail still has reflexes. One foot, the one she is
favoring, hasn't reflexes. (pick up the gerbil, tickle her foot method). She
walks around pretty well, but won't stand up on her hind legs. She managed
to eat a little cracked corn infront of me, so I know she can eat. What
should I do? -April Ann
