I have a question about plastic cages and tubes. I heard that the SAM,
CritterTrail and Habitrail type tubes and cages might not be good for
gerbils. I had bought of bunch of these for my Duncan to play in
sometimes. She goes in them about 4 times a week for several hours to
play.
I started to check the boxes in the store and noticed that the boxes say
these cages and tubes are for hamsters, but don't say anything about
gerbils.
I was starting to think that maybe I ought to not put Duncan in the
tubes and cages anymore, but I just went to a site called something like
1001 Ways to House a Gerbil and on that page it said most of the people
who put pics on the site are on this list.
One of the pics had a plastic cage and some plastic tubes.
So, now I am wondering if the plastic cages and tubes are ok. ?????
I don't keep Duncan in them unless I am around. For the night and
when I am out, she is in her 10 gallon tank and soon I think we will be
getting a 20 gal.
