Thank you for the Gerbil FAQ's. It really helped understanding these little
critters. We have a brown one and a cream one. My daughter named them
Brownie and Sugar. Since the last time I wrote, we bought one of those
balls that they walk around in. It was fun to try to catch them to let them
take turns in the ball. I took a cup and cornered them in and kept it
covered until I could gently put them in the ball. Today, I am slowly
getting used to catching them in their cage. They're so quick and my
daughter just thinks it's hilarious that they keep popping out of my hand...
although if I am patient enough, I can scoop them up with both of my hands
in a "cup" motion. I have been taking turns holding them, and petting them
until they fell asleep. I read somewhere that gerbils pur like kitties. I
could have sworn that Brownie purred. I didn't hear it, but I felt him purr
while he slept in my hands.

Thank you again. I didn't have the patience or the energy to catch them
yesterday but today I really feel like I'm making progress.

Lynn
